Upon returning to Knoxville, TN the next day we picked up the motorhome, and brought it home for packing. We packed the motorhome some on Friday and all day Saturday, while watching football games. Sunday we left for Rocky Top Campground (http://rockytopcampground.com/) . It is actually 116 miles from home near Bristol, VA.
Our purpose was to relax and check out the area. In checking the area we saw many beautiful leaf scenes at the Patrick Henry Dam. We visited the Bristol Motor Speed Way.
During our campground stay we met several fellow RVers. One couple going to West Virginia to go ATVing. Seems like they were having a gathering for all ATVers to come. Another couple were full timers using the area to fly out to business meetings. We got some leads on RV things that they used such as WIFI and water filtration. Another couple was from the Florida Everglades. The man had a heart attack after a bike ride. He had a stint and is back in the campground recuperating. So to say the least we met several nice people in the campground. The owner of the campground was very helpful to all.
We visited Jonesborough, TN, Greeneville, TN, Kingsport, TN and Bristol, VA. Jonesborough is the oldest TN city. There is a lot of history here about the Cherokee Indians and settlers.
These pictures are from the Davy Crockett birth place. This a state park with swimming pool, river, and camp ground. The camp ground was closed.
