8/10/2014 - 8/12/2014 New Hampshire

On August 10 we left for New Hampshire.  It turned out that we were closer to Bob and Christie than we realized.  We stayed about 20 miles from the Maine border.  WE stayed at Timberland Campground.  http://www.timberlandcampgroundnh.com/  This was a family run campground and highly recommend.  It is geared for tent campers campers and a few motorhomes.  It is close to the Appalachian Trail.

We spent one day out and about.  We went to Mt Washington and moose watching.  Both were memorable experiences.  We traveled to the top of MT Washington via the COG Railroad.  It took us to the top for some beautiful views and another glimpse of the Appalachian Trail.   The trail went right over the top.

First steam driven engine that was retired.

 Appalachian Hiker

Appalachian Trail Lodge for hikers.

We also went moose watching that evening.  We only saw one moose but the three hours riding the area on the back roads was interesting and offered more insight into the area.  If we had seen other  moose there would have been no pictures.....It was too dark.

This was a Resort Lodge right at the Canadian border.
